What is See & Treat?

A See & Treat Appointment at The Day Clinic in Cambridge is designed for patients who want quick removal of skin lesions, including sebaceous cysts, lipomas and skin tags, often through minor procedures such as shave excision.

It’s important to note that not all skin conditions or concerns can be evaluated and treated in a single visit. The Procedure / Process

At The Day Clinic, our See & Treat procedures are normally carried out on the same day as your consultation. Once your skin doctor has examined the area, they will discuss the best technique for safe and effective removal.

Depending on the type of lesion, options may include:

Shave excision – a quick and minimally invasive way to remove raised skin lesions or skin tags.
Small incision and removal – commonly used for lipomas or sebaceous cysts, where the entire lump is carefully extracted.
Cautery or minor excision – suitable for smaller blemishes that require precise removal.

All procedures are performed under local anaesthetic, ensuring comfort throughout. The sample may be sent for laboratory testing if medically indicated.

Aftercare & Results

Aftercare advice is provided for all See & Treat procedures, including lipoma removal, sebaceous cyst treatment, and shave excisions.

Following your procedure, our team will provide clear instructions to support healing and reduce the risk of complications.

Typical advice includes:

Keeping the treated area clean and dry for the first 24 hours.
Using a protective dressing if required.
Avoiding strenuous activity until stitches (if used) are removed.

A punch biopsy scar or excision line may form, but this usually fades over time. Gentle massage and the use of recommended creams can help soften the area. Our clinicians will advise on specific aftercare for lipoma removal, sebaceous cyst treatment, or shave excisions.

  I am full of praise for Mr Abood, his team and his clinic. It is a friendly, welcoming environment with ample (and free!) parking. The staff are caring and empathetic, the procedure was straightforward and I felt as though my wellbeing was prioritised at all times.   Yesterday, I attended the Day Clinic for the removal of several moles/lesions. I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment I received and the outstanding way in which it was delivered.
This is my second visit to Mr Abood's Clinic, so there was no apprehension nor doubt that the experience would again exceed expectation.
I found Mr Abood to be highly skilled and knowledgeable, personable and caring. I felt instantly at ease in his care and had absolute confidence in his professionalism and expertise.

  From the moment we walked in I felt comfortable and looked after . The whole experience was kind and caring and I felt very well treated . My questions were answered and explained and my comfort during the procedure was constantly checked . The follow up email to explain what may happen was clear and precise and I feel able to contact the clinic if I have any ongoing problems .
